The typical process for managing the pressure in an inflatable boat is with a manual pump cap and the boater guessing at what the proper pressure is for the boat on a given day and time of the day. Due to the nature of daily pressure fluctuations that occur from a wide range of conditions, this is virtually an impossible task, even with a gage.
It’s not uncommon for the day-to-day high pressure of boat to vary more than 1 psi. depending on conditions. A black boat can vary more than 1.5 psi. Over the course of a single day, the pressure can vary between 1 and 2 psi depending on conditions.
